In the heart of Marquises de Gregorio family estate rises the “Sirignano Wine Resort”. This holiday farm bears the name of the ancient Sirignano countryside "Baglio" or as it is known in local sicilian dialect “Bagghiu”. A Baglio is a characteristic building of feudal Sicily which consists of a farm with a large courtyard inside where the landowners and the farmers once lived.
For a long time this Baglio was a small village, there was a manor, a school, a Church and farmers' houses. After the 1968 earthquake the Baglio was seriously damaged and its inhabitants, who were too far from another city center and frightened, decided to abandon the territory. Until 1978 there was an ancient horseback Carabinieri (the Italian armed forces) station who controlled the Marquises properties.
Today, thanks to recent architectural restoration work, the Baglio has come back to life, offering hospitality a relaxing experince to wine-lovers and whoever wishes to set out on an exciting journey in the Sicilian countryside. Here it is possible to discover wine and food traditions, history, art and cultural beauties together with the marvellous landscapes of Strade del Vino DOC Monreale and Alcamo DOC wine tourism paths.
On this fertile land, for centuries Marquises de Gregorio family has been caring for the vineyards and the olive groves.
Today our company is lead by Marquis Massimo de Gregorio, who, with great passion and devotion, takes care of the entire production process: from grape variety selection through to bottling and selling. Prot
